Surprise your guests with these exquisite French confections called Arlequines de Carlux. They are entire walnut halves that have been toasted and coated with dark chocolate and cocoa powder. They are presented in an ivory box. (3.52 oz)
The name “arlequine” was given to this confection because the word “arlequin” is a variety of walnuts in the local language. As for Carlux, it is a commune of the Dordogne département in the region of Aquitaine. This confection is made by the Domaine de Béquignol, a company specializing in walnuts, situated in a locality called Béquignolles. The name probably comes from a type of vine called “Béquigneau” as the hill was known for its vineyards a long time ago.
Ingredients: bitter chocolate coating: 65% (cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, emulsifier: soy lecithin), roasted walnuts: 25%, sugar, cocoa powder.
